The home is situated on 4.3 acres of land at 91 Western Avenue in Sherborn, MA. It has eleven rooms on three levels.  The overall size is 4500 square feet, not including a 2-½-size garage that is insulated and plastered.  The annual taxes on Blueberry Briar are $9248 for the 2006 tax year.

      Exterior

      • The extra long private driveway is covered with crushed stone to maintain the ambiance of this special house.
      • There is a built in sprinkler system for the front gardens.
      • There are post lights running the length of the private drive. These globe lights match all the exterior lighting around the outside doors.
      • The house has underground electricity, phone, and cable wires with 200-amp service. Also hard wired in are smoke detectors and a security system.
      • The sides of the house and all ceilings have been reinsulated and a more extensive ventilation system has been provided around the house’s perimeter.
      • The house of this manse was stripped of all paint and every square inch checked, to determine if all exterior wood remained in its original top-notch condition. Then, Blueberry Briar was hand painted with a coat of oil base paint followed by a coat of latex.
      • Interior

        • Insulated Anderson windows are throughout the house
        • There is a massive central chimney that has flues to three extra large fireplaces and the heating system that is natural gas, forced hot water.
        • In addition to the huge basement and an extra large garage for storage, there is storage space under every nook and cranny and a huge area over the foyer, library, and the entire garage.

        • There are 6 separate heating zones.
        • All floors are hardwood except for the kitchen and bathrooms that have ceramic tile. The master bathroom has radiant heating under the ceramic tile.
        • The entire interior has been repainted, room-by-room, in the last two years.

          First Floor

          • The living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, guest bedroom (#4) with full bath, library, main bath room, and front entrance foyer are on the first floor.  All rooms are significantly larger than the norm but not so much so they are cavernous.

          Kitchen

          • The  kitchen has custom built cabinets built by a master craftsman. The upper cabinets are all separated into divisional units. Below the soapstone counters, there are drawers in lieu of cabinets. There is a built in pantry with 8 sides.
          • There are 3 stoves: an Advantium (for microwave and regular use),  a GE oven for convection and regular use, and a 6 burner Wolf gas range with accompanying oven. Above the gas oven is a Thermadore hood with heating tray. Other appliances include: Sub Zero refrigerator, a Fisher/Paykel double dishwasher, and a garbage disposal.
          • There are two sinks. One is hand made of soapstone and was featured in Fine Homebuilding magazine (all mortised and tendon) and the other is a stainless steel sink.
          • There are 12 built in ceiling lights as well as accent lights under cabinets and on the walls.

          Second Floor
