Sherborn Forest and Trail Association

Founded in 1967, SFTA is one of the most active organizations in town. It is devoted to maintaining the 23-mile trail that is accessible to riders and joggers alike. Most of this land is on town-purchased public land and additionally has rights of way over some privately owned land.

The SFTA sponsors many annual events. The two most popular are the Hunting Pace competition which is divided into two areas, one for the casual horse lover and the other for the advanced equestrian. People come from all over the state (and out of state) to attend this event. The other hugely popular event sponsored by the SFTA is the very upscale Grange Fair. In addition, the SFTA plans family canoe trips, walks, picnics, and other horse shows on a regular basis. Many non-equestrian residents are members of the SFTA and all volunteer to keep the trails open and clean for residents.
